If you are in the market for a new coffee machine, then there is a mind-boggling array of machines to choose from. The first decision to make is whether you want a single serve, French Press, multi-cup, percolator or multi-use coffee maker. Do some researches online to learn more about the different coffee makers before picking the one which best suits your needs and lifestyle.

How to brew the best coffee?

  • If you find that your coffee is occasionally bitter, try sprinkling a pinch or two of salt on the coffee grounds before brewing. It will take care of the problem.
  • Keep the bag of coffee grounds tightly sealed between uses. Coffee does go stale with prolonged exposure to air and oxygen.
  • Sprinkling a bit of cinnamon which is finely ground on the coffee in the filter basket will also reduce bitterness. Make sure not to put more than one tbsp. as it can lead to overflowing of the coffee maker's filter.
  • Most Cuisinart coffee makers work the same way - it is a good idea to read the manual to get a good idea of the functions before using. You can get the most out of your maker by following manufacturer instructions.
  • Make sure to turn off the coffee pot when it is not in use. This is to prevent electrical fires in case your coffee maker doesn't automatically shut down when not in use.
  • Be careful while handling the carafe when the coffee maker is working. Boiling water could land on the heating element and injure you.
  • Be sure to check if the tank has water in it before turning it on. Never turn on the Grosche french press machine without water as it will damage the carafe as well as the equipment.
